I always love learning a little bit more about the person behind the blog, and since it's been a while since I've shared anything personal, I thought today was as good as any to tell you a little bit about me!
ONE | My name is not Bella. It's Jillian. Bella is not my middle name, my dog's name, or short for Isabella. It means "beautiful" in Italian, and years ago I thought "Bella Carta" sounded like a really pretty name for a stationery company. You'd be surprised to know how many people think my name is Bella!
TWO | I am a mom to three boys - a 4 year old, and twin 1 year olds. Yes, twins run in my family. And no, we are not trying for a girl.
THREE | I met my husband while on a date with an old boyfriend. Craig was charming, incredibly sweet and a complete gentleman, and I knew from the moment we met I wanted to spend more time with him. Little did I know we'd be married three years later!
FOUR | My current food obsession is Banana Dole Dippers. Have you tried them? They're AMAZING. No really, they are. And they're only a 100 calories (if you eat one package, which I do not). They're my favorite late-night snack while I'm up working on orders!
FIVE | I call the TV remote the "selector". This is what my parents called it, and I never knew that "selector" was not what other people called it. Now it's just part of my vocabulary!
SIX | The carwash scares me, and honestly, I can't tell you the last time I went through one. I find the whole experience really stressful and overwhelming, so my sweet husband always gets gets my car washed for me.
SEVEN | My eyesight is horrid, and I need eyeglasses to even get out of bed... but I also have the most sensitive sense of smell and can smell things that no one else can. In a house of 4 boys and a 60-pound dog, that is not always a blessing.
EIGHT | Pet Peeves: long voicemails, the sound of someone chewing gum, and the incorrect spellings of their/there/they're and stationery/stationary.
NINE | I have a degree in Biological Sciences, work full-time in Marketing Operations, and run my stationery business on the side. What that basically means is I'm doing nothing with my degree. And if I had to do it all again, I'd become a nurse.
TEN | My confirmation name is Exupéry, after Saint Exupéry (the author of Le Petite Prince). I was mad my parents were forcing me to make my confirmation, so I decided to be a bratty teenager and choose I name I knew would raise some eyebrows. I'm just thankful that name didn't have to appear on my wedding invitations or any other legal form of documentation.
Your turn! What's something I'd be surprised to learn about you?
