Today I'm sharing the final post in this spring's wedding inspiration series, The Kennebunkport Suite! If you'd like to see all the posts in this series, there are links to each at the end of this post!
Vacations to Maine have been a cornerstone of our relationship for the last nine years. Not long after we started dating, my husband invited me on his family's annual vacation, and I fell in love with the gorgeous beaches, the salty air, and the laid-back lifestyle. One of my favorite stops has always been Kennebunkport. A quintessential seaside town, it's probably #1 of our all-time favorite places, and our go-to place for date-night when my in-laws babysit. The road leading into Kennebunkport is full of antique shops and tiny restaurants, and we love exploring all the unexpected places along the way.
When I started designing this wedding collection, I knew one suite had to be based on Kennebunkport, and an elopement celebration seemed perfectly fitting. The vision for this wedding consisted of a navy and grey color palette, farm-to-table food, subtle stripes, understated florals and a fresh, but subtle industrial vibe.
I wanted the design of this suite to be super clean and sophisticated. No monograms, no illustrations - just pretty type and gorgeous paper. These were printed on extra-thick cotton stock, and feel so elegant to the touch. The color palette and the nautical envelope liner are a simple nod to downtown Kennebunkport, and of the Hidden Pond reception space.
