Before I start to plan for the new year, I always like to take a look back and reevaluate what worked the year before. Twenty-fifteen was a huge year for this little business, and for our family, and summarizing the year in this way always makes me so grateful for recording the moments on the blog. Here's a look back at the last year!
In February, I launched my very first wedding collection before showcasing my work at the Big Fake Wedding, NYC! Both of these events were so influential in shaping my business decisions for the rest of the year, and are, to this day, some of my proudest professional moments.
In March, I launched a brand-new website and blog, and loved the clean and updated feel. I'm now a SquareSpace believer.
In April, I started sharing the inspiration behind my Shelburne, Chatham and Charleston Wedding Suites. And even though their birthday was in February, I finally shared the photos of James & Luca's Big Top Birthday Party. One of my favorites, to-date!
July, despite our annual family vacation, was a productive month for business. I shared photos from my very first editorial shoot (featured on 100 Layer Cake!), a preppy Crawfish Boil, and released new designs into the shop! July also happened to be a big month for me personally, too, as I had a big shift in priorities. Little did I know a few weeks later we'd be making a big change to our family life, but that post forever changed my outlook on my business and my family.
In August I shared a new direction for the business, photos from a stunning Blush & Metallic Editorial Shoot (featured on Style Me Pretty! Dream come true!!). August also marked my one-year anniversary of being an established business, and I shared some lessons I learned along the way.
September was full of fun new projects, most notably The Photo Project, which was designed to help families prepare for their annual Holiday photos, which happens to be a very stressful (and often last-minute) even in our home! I also shared photos from my favorite girl-party ever, a Saddle Up Pony Party, and a peek inside my Brand Refresh. One of the biggest events of the month however (and maybe even the year!), was the launch of the Wedding Stationery Guide! Months of hard work and research was poured into this document to give engaged couples a greater understanding of wedding stationery.
In October, I released the twenty-fifteen Holiday Collection, which most certainly is my favorite of all-time. I shared photos from an adorable Very Hungry Caterpillar birthday party, and some tips to creating your signature wedding. October also marked the start of a new series on the blog, The Wedding Workshops, to help educate brides on different aspects of their planning process!
November was our second-annual Give Thanks Campaign, in honor of my brother, and I'm proud to announce we donated over $150 to St. Jude Children's Hospital! In November we were also featured in Well Wed Magazine along with Kaitlin & Mike's gorgeous rustic wedding!
December was one of the craziest and best months, ever! I set a new record for orders in one month, and far surpassed my original sales goal for the Holiday Season. I took a much-needed blogging break to focus on a new business venture, selling our home, and buying a new one!
Phew! What a year! I'm so excited for a clean slate as we enter twenty-sixteen, and all the big dreams and planning that comes with it!
...and if you didn't notice, we've added some new navigation to the sidebar to make it easier to find old posts! It's still a work in process, but the archives is a great place to start if you are looking for something specific!
